District 1 Participates in
Grizzlies Health Fair
(See photos below story)
Promoters of the First Annual Grizzlies Health Fair termed the even held on February 28 a huge success! A free ticket to that day’s professional basketball game was given to the first 1,000 fans who obtained 100 points. Each booth awarded colored dots worth differing amounts of points. Participants included TNA District 1, as well as Baptist, Methodist and St. Francis hospitals, and other facilities and organizations.
Free screenings for blood glucose, hypertension and lipids, in addition to excellent health information, were offered. The TNA District 1 booth focused on mental health issues as well as promotion to “Ask the Nurse.”
“We were bombarded with questions the entire day which encompassed physical as well as mental health issues. The public was made aware of the existence and purpose of TNA and this included a large group of nursing students who were assisting in other booths,” said Mona Hector.
“Diana Baker and I extend a special word of thanks to all the members who volunteered: Carolyn Brown, Debbie Hooser, Evelyn Jones-Talley, Jane Owen, Diane Ruppel and D. Garner,” said Hector.
