The Tennessee Nurses Association is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Based on the Criteria of the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Commission on Accreditation, an approved provider unit has the authority to plan, implement, and evaluate its own continuing education activities during the three-year period of provider unit approval. If your organization is planning and submitting for approval multiple CNE activities throughout the year, consider applying to become an approved provider unit. Once approved, your activities will not need to be submitted each time to TNA for approval, instead, you will be authorized to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate continuing education activities according to TNA criteria and rules and award contact hours for those activities. Provider units report to TNA yearly and as requested. Provider units provide continuing education activities.  They never approve their own or anyone else’s CNE activities. The number of activities and how often they are repeated is up to you with no additional fees to TNA after provider unit approval.
