Legislation authorizing a new specialty license plate honoring nurses passed the House and the Senate during the 2003 legislative session and was signed into law by the Governor. It is now Public Chapter No. 130 and can be found on the Web at www.state.tn.us/sos.
Proceeds from the sale of the license plate will go to the Tennessee Nurses Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, to help support its programs including Scholarships for Nurses, Nursing Research Grants and Nursing Leadership Development. We have until

TNF fully expects to sell the required number of 1,000 nurse license plates by June 30, but in the event that 1,000 plates are not sold, your full $35 payment will be returned to you immediately.
Fifty-five Legislators signed onto this bill as it moved through the legislative process. This tells us there is a lot of support for the nursing profession among the Legislators.
