|Keynote Speaker - Barb Nash, MS, RNC, CNS
Even as a student, Barb Nash instinctively knew there was a place for humor in nursing and
health care, but it wasn't until Norman Cousin's bestselling book, "Anatomy of an Illness," in
1964 that the scientific world began to study the possible relationship between humor and
health. Barb suddenly felt validated and continued to investigate humor and incorporate
it into her professional life.
Join Nash, as she speaks on Humor and Health, and helps her audiences explore the development of humor
in children, identifies how adults lose touch with their inner child, and teaches us how to restore and
nurture our funny bones. Audience participation is key to fully enjoying your time with her. Engage with
Barb in laughter and play, contribute to your own physical, psychological, and social health, and discover
ways to incorporate humor into your life.
Nash is a graduate of The Christ Hospital, Cincinnati, OH, where nothing was funny, the Ohio University,
Athens, OH and The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH. She has spent most of her career in primary
care and nursing education.
The TNA Achievement Awards Gala, held in the evening of Saturday, October 29, offers an opportunity to honor nurses and other individuals by acknowledging their exceptional dedication, commitment and professionalism to the profession of nursing. TASN participants are welcome to attend the Gala. Tickets are $45 and may be purchased using the online TASN registration form, on the printable registration form, or onsite at the conference. However, seating may be limited so it's best to purchase in advance if possible. Dinner is included.
